A Sunrise…

I was granted permission by a friend at church to post her poem on my blog. There is something special about a poet, the way they make words sing on paper, it is one of the truest forms of art, of praise, of beauty, when you combined a heart for God and a pen of eloquence… ahhhh. Enjoy “A Sunrise” by Christy Vest.

A Sunrise

“The sky still dark with night,

Foreshadows the coming of the light.

Faint hints of purple and pink,

Waft their way through the atmosphere, and I can but think

Of our own Sun of Righteousness shining brightly

To all the world proclaiming Him mightily.

Then comes the true masterpiece,

When the beats of my heart nearly cease,

As I look up and up into the sky,

And wonder if unto me my eyes lie,

For I see and ocean of blue, white, violet, fuchsia, and gold,

Of gold and jewels so vivid, they appear like riches from kings of old!

It seems like a surreal painting of beauty,

With God as the Artist. It seems only my duty

To tell of our Lord of the seas and the skies,

As the Creator of all, whether sunset or sunrise.”
